Maintenance Manager


Responsible for all maintenance of buildings and ensuring machinery runs to their maximum efficiency and output. This includes preventative maintenance, managing breakdowns of mechanical and electrical equipment. Includes co–ordinating work of contractors on site, liaising with suppliers and budgetary/cost reporting, and management of site maintenance engineer.


Key Responsibilities / Job Duties and Tasks


Effectively lead the site maintenance team and schedule to ensure all planned maintenance is completed on schedule

Effectively resolve  / delegate any maintenance issues to be resolved on each shift and small projects to the right skills in the team, planning and managing effective works.

Effectively plan the preventative maintenance of all machinery and equipment on site keeping up to date and detailed records.

Manage fire safety checks including daily panel, weekly break glass and monthly equipment checks.

Adhere to daily and weekly checks to ensure smooth operation of site.

Identify business improvement opportunities within the organization.

Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health & safety, food safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors.

Develop close working relationships with third party contractors and manage costs.

Improve production and packing equipment effectiveness, driving increased machine reliability through optimized maintenance program.

Identify cost saving within maintenance budget.

Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities.

Develop and implement fault–finding.

Project manage new installs and refurbishments.

Assist in team projects and any other reasonable tasks.

Proactively seek out and carry out maintenance works.

Conduct “Ugly Walks”.

The ability to prioritize and to move quickly from one issue to another.


Personal Specification:


Qualified Engineer in Electrical, Mechanical, Automation or Process Engineering

3 years of experience in a food manufacturing / FMCG site engineer role

Demonstrated track record preferably in an FMCG

Good Communication Skills in English (interpersonal, listening, written and oral) and a working knowledge of English

Team player, able to guide, steer and coach a team

Experience in leading and motivating multi–disciplinary & cross–functional teams

Food manufacturing experience preferable

Must be flexible and available for on call and weekend requirements
